'Get Out, You Damned One'
It's the title of a novel written by Saddam Hussein. It's also the title of an op-ed piece by John Tierney that discusses the xenophobic motivations of the Iraqi insurgency.
To many Iraqis, I suppose this is Red Dawn, a movie our drill sergeants showed us when I went through basic training back in 1985. If you haven't seen it, it's a movie that depicts the occupation of the United States by Soviets and Latin American communists, and the exploits of a band of brave, patriotic teenagers (think insurgents, but not "dead-enders").
To come full circle, Operation Red Dawn was the name of the operation to capture Saddam Hussein. Weird.
