The cuddly menace, "My Golden Book About Zogg," which is really hysterically funny, is the work of cartoonist and writer Jason Yungbluth of Rochester. He has a huge underground following and a bunch of bizarre comix out there, including "Weapon Brown," -- grownup "Peanuts" in an apocalyptic world where the "bald-headed son of a bitch" crawls the scum with his bionic dog looking for the little red-headed girl. Funny, we have this book too. Whenever I read it, it strikes me how times have changed: most adults wouldn't understand the lyrical beauty in that book nowadays; for kids, it just seems way too wordy. I love the sense of awe that this book brings me.

And now, I'll be keeping my eyes open for Zogg as I'm reading it :-)
